Last week we asked you to share your favorite personal web host, then we rounded up the five most popular nominations for you to vote on. Now we're back with the results and a discount code for DreamHost!
Consider it an abnormal state of affairs in Hive Five world, but in last week's Hive Five the category of "Other" didn't just score highly—it took the majority vote with 30%. What does "Other" mean? You'll have to read the comments on the Hive Five Call for Contenders and Hive Five to see what your fellow readers had in mind. (More than anything it's probably a testament to the number of services available for the job.)
Following close behind Other was DreamHost with 26% of the vote, BlueHost with 12%, 1&1 with 12%, HostGator with 10%, and NearlyFreeSpeech with 10%. Check out the results in bar graph form below (click for a closer view):
